Summer Camps

Scratch Coding Camp

During this camp students ages 6-13 will learn to program their own games and animations using Scratch. They'll also have the opportunity to use their new coding skills to program robots and create their own controllers for their games using SparkFun PicoBoards.

Scratch is a programming language developed by MIT and has a user friendly and intuitive design which allows students to write scripts by simply connecting digital blocks together.

Also included is a “Scratch Basic Skills Guide” to take home, an online extended character library and an invitation to the club’s online Scratch studio where kids can share, play and comment on each others projects. This camp is designed to be fun and challenging for students both new and experienced in Scratch.

Minecraft Adventure Camp

Minecraft Adventure Camp ColoradoDuring this camp students ages 6-13 will become a part of a world on an exclusive online server. The whole class will work together to complete expeditions and challenges while building their own town. Block by block, kids can create anything they can imagine. They’ll learn basic economics, architecture, logic & problem solving, goal setting, science, and literacy while expressing creativity and practicing team work.

Teachers will be with them every step of the way offering guidance, tips and tutorials. Also included in this camp is a “Minecraft Crafting and Basic Skills Guide” to keep and take home.

And the fun doesn’t stop when the camp is over. Every student that has been a part of our summer camp will continue to have access to the online server for at least a year and can continue to play with all their new friends after the camp ends.
